Paco Calvo, author of "Planta Sapiens" is a world leading researcher in plant intelligence. He is absolutely convinced that plants are sentient, conscious beings. In this interview we explore with him what that may mean, how to measure consciences and how, using similar methodologies, we may be able to answer the question of whether machines are, or may come to be, conscious. Conscious automata, in possession of free will, are protagonists of some of the most important plot points of “Foreverness”, hence our interest.
