“Let me paint you” in New York

We are pleased to share with you that Tantú Film’s latest traditional film production, the “Let me paint you” short film, received an Honorable mention in the Video Art and Experimental Film Festival 2026 of New York city.

This is important for us for various reasons. Of course it is always good to have some international recognition for our work, but specifically this festival targets experimental movie making, and that is what we are doing. We are not content with experimenting with new ways of using a traditional camera, it is not enough to be at the forefront of AI usage for coherent story telling, but with the Foreverness project we want to go one step further and eventually combine both tools in the same film.

Our vision is clear, we want to invite as much human talent to our films as our pockets allow, and we want to use AI in order to do what would have been a super production, only in reach of a Holywood studio. We are proud our art and experimentation got acknowledged out there, in the wider world. Our means are small, but our dreams are big.

Follow us to Tantú.

“Let me paint you” is the first ever short film in Film History, narrated in a 540° circular continuous movement.

This short film was previously selected and exhibited at Wairoa Māori Film Festival 2026.
